Many acne patients recognize the following situation:
You look in the mirror and discover a new pimple which you immediately have to squeeze. Afterwards, however, the pimple is usually not “gone” rather it gets infected and becomes bigger and more painful than the original pimple or comedo. This is usually the result of the introduction of germs or the “squeezing” of infected matter into deeper skin layers.
An alternative is medical acne cosmetology which is performed under sterile conditions by trained medical assistants. They will open pimples using sterile hollow needles and “dig-out” the infected pustule. The careful cleaning of acne skin shortens the “life” of pimples and prevents the development of scar tissue. It can also be done in combination with fruit acid peelings.
